This insurance policy is underwritten by Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC.
Who are First Assist Insurance Services Limited?
First Assist administer this insurance policy on behalf of the insurer.
In which countries is this insurance valid?
The insurance policy covers worldwide travel however all trips must start and end in the UK.
What is the maximum trip duration covered under this policy?
The maximum duration of any one trip will be 24 days. Winter Sports trips are limited to 17 days in any one calendar year.
How many trips can I make per calendar year?
You can travel as many times as you like as long as each trip does not exceed the maximum duration of 24 days or 17 days for winter sports trips (subject to the limit of 17 days in any one calendar year).
Am I covered if I am travelling within the UK?
The policy includes cover for trips taken wholly within the UK provided that accommodation is pre-booked for 2 consecutive nights or more.
Can I get travel insurance on a one-way ticket or trip?
No, it is a requirement of this policy that all trips must start and end in the UK within the trip limits permitted.
What is the upper age limit for cover?
The upper age limit of this policy is 65 years inclusive. Once a customer turns 66 years old cover will cease.
What is the definition of a family?
You, your spouse, your civil partner (as defined in Section 1 of the Civil Partnership Act 2004) or the person (whether or not of the same sex) with whom you are permanently cohabiting in a marriage-like relationship together with up to 6 of your children, step-children, adopted children and foster children who are under the age of 16 or under the age of 23 and in full time education.
How many of my children are covered under the policy?
Up to 6 of your children as long as they are aged under 16 or aged under 23 and are in full time education.
Are children insured if they travel alone?
Children are only covered if they travel with an insured adult.
When does my cover start?
The date BACB receive and approve your signed BACB Gold Credit Card agreement.
Do I need to contact you to renew my policy each year?
No, you don’t have to do anything as your policy will be renewed on a monthly basis as long as you hold a valid BACB's Gold Credit Card, you continue to pay the monthly fee on your card and you remain a permanent UK resident.
What do you class as a UK resident?
A UK resident is classed as a person who resides in England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland for six months of the year or more.
